Quick Easy Guide Using Canva
If you have been looking for an inexpensive way to create amazing graphics for your blog, website, or business, then look no further than Canva.
Canva is easy to use and has excellent tools that allow you to design images that grab anyone’s eye. These images could be used on your website, Pinterest, and anywhere else that you are leveraging your business and trying to advertise. Canva helps you with all of your design needs both on and offline. When thinking about offline, Canva allows you to make posters, slideshow presentations, documents, and business cards.
There are a couple of excellent benefits to using Canva, and these are the reasons that many people choose to. You can either make your design, or you can use an already designed template or layout. The choice is up to you and no matter which one you choose, the program is still easy to work with.
Another benefit is that this program is absolutely 100% free to use. You never have to pay a dime to use the site or any of its features. There is a premium side to the website that offers users more stock images, the ability to upload your fonts, the ability to organize your uploads into folders, and the ability to download your creations as PDF files or as PNG files with a transparent background. However, the free side of the website has hundreds of different elements, features, backgrounds, images, and fonts to choose from. So you are never truly limited in what you can use.
This is a great program to use if you are not a graphic designer, but you need some professional looking designs quickly. Let's take a look at some of the most popular features.
Free Price and no Installation Needed
We discussed this a bit above, but it bears mentioning again. One of the major advantages to Canva is the free price of an account. This program is an online program only and never even requires you to download anything (except your finished graphics) onto your computer. Save your computer space while still being able to create amazing designs.
Designing Made Easy
Canva is easy to learn and easy to use. There are tutorials and videos available to help should you experience a problem with any of its features. You can crop, copy, and resize any piece of the images you want from their vast selection. Once you have the images you want, just drag them and drop them where you want.
Tons of Options
There are many different templates, images, fonts, and designs to choose from included in the free account; and you can upload your photos to use within their templates. Another excellent source for Canva templates is Creative Market
Quick Easy Guide Using Canva Getting Started
To get started, get over to the Canva website and create your free account. Head over to your email account and confirm your address to finish the process.
You will be guided to start a new design.
Social Media Design
Just click on the type of design you would like to create, and Canva will automatically open up the design window with all available options for you to choose from specific for that type.
On the left hand of the screen, you will see a sidebar with all of your template options. You can search for images, browse through the layouts, add text, change the background, and upload anything you want.
On the right-hand side of your screen is your work area. This is where designs and layouts will appear when you click on them. At this point, you should see a blank page. Underneath this blank page is an add new button. When clicked, this button will add another page to your current work area. You can add up to 30 pages for your campaign.
Canva saves your work automatically after you make changes, but if you are ever not sure, you can also manually keep your design and Canva will back it up to your account. You can store unlimited configurations on Canva, allowing you to create your templates to use (great for branding). Moreover, when you are ready, just download the finished design to your computer to be used how you see fit.
Canva is also available integrated into other services, such as WordPress (to make it easy for you to create blog graphics on the fly) and CinchShare (to make it easy for you to create social media graphics to share right away).
All in all, Canva is a great online platform for creating clean, professional looking graphics to share across social media or to use on your blog. Their flexibility and ease of use make it a good fit for anyone, from graphics beginner to advanced graphics guru, to use in their online business strategy no matter what their budget is.
